Like the first autumn breeze,
warm and wet from summer’s kiss
blowing through my heartstrings
breathing melodies like chimes
you came,
effortlessly.
Like green leaves, relaxing
into yellows and oranges and browns
drifting from the safety of their fortresses,
relief from the rhythm of humdrum
you found me,
effortlessly.
Like thanksgiving, we gathered at tables
To celebrate our miracles: each other,
cooked by time, our love a golden brown
we exist,
effortlessly.
Like the first white on a sea of crisp grass
and the last autumn sigh,
fleeting and dark once again
is how you left me,
effortlessly.
This is beautiful!!
